Hide and Encrypt Files, Emails, and Passwords

QuickCrypto.com has released QuickCrypto v. 3.1K, a fast, powerful Windows utility that hides and protects files, email, and passwords. Unlike simple encryption applications, QuickCrypto offers a wide variety of folder and file protection functions that can be tailored for any enterprise, small business, or home user.

It's simple to identify and encrypt folders and files that you want to protect from prying eyes. Rather than encrypt entire folders, you can choose the files that you want to protect, and leave them in folders that also contain unprotected files. You can encrypt email text and attachments, videos, music, or any file on your computer.

In addition to encrypting files, QuickCrypto can also hide files so they cannot be seen using ordinary Windows programs such as Windows Explorer. By both encrypting and hiding files, you ensure that even if somebody discovers a hidden file, they won't be able to view it or use it.

The latest version of QuickCrypto includes steganography, the ability to hide text in photographs or other images. When you hide plain or encrypted text within a picture file, the picture can still be viewed normally. Only QuickCrypto users with the proper password can find and access the hidden text.

QuickCrypto's Password Vault lets you store all of your online and application passwords in one secure place. Because it's easy to retrieve and use the userids and passwords that are needed to enter secure online sites, you'll be more likely to use different passwords for each site, making your Internet surfing more safe and secure. You can even use the program's random password generator to create long, unusual, non-intuitive passwords which are significantly more difficult for the bad guys to discover.

Windows creates archives and backup files containing information about your Internet browsing activities. QuickCrypto can shred and delete these web history files and cookies, so nobody can discover your browsing activities.

Files that you delete from your hard drive are fairly easy to recover, if you have the right software tools. QuickCrypto can make these files impossible to recover. The program includes the same level of file wiping and file shredding processing that is used by the US Department of Defense. Once QuickCrypto shreds a file, it cannot be recovered because it has been completely and permanently erased from the drive.

The program has all of the extras that you would expect in a professional encryption application. You can choose between Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption, the strongest regimen available today, and Blowfish encryption, a top-rated non-commercial standard. Files can be automatically compressed as they are encrypted. You can create self-decrypting email text messages that can be read by recipients who have the proper password, even if they don't own the QuickCrypto program. It's easy to choose themes, customize colors, choose sound effects, and tailor the program to meet your needs and tastes.

Whether you're a business person who needs to ensure that confidential client information remains private, a sales person who needs to protect proposals and financial projections from prying eyes, or a home user who wants to keep financial records secure, QuickCrypto has the tools that you need.

QuickCrypto Professional v. 3.1K runs on Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista, costs $39.95(US) for a single user license, and may be purchased securely online from http://www.quickcrypto.com/. Multi-user discounts are available.

You can download a 15-day trial version from the same web address. QuickCrypto Home Edition, with significantly slower encryption speeds, costs $14.95(US).

At Last, Some Good News About Data Security.

It seems like every week there is another gloomy report of  'Lost Data'; laptops left on trains or in cabs, discs or memory drives containing personal data lost in the mail or stolen from offices,  and as the valuable data held on these devices is rarely protected, any clued up criminal can access the information in a nano-trice. Since the data is seldom encrypted, encrypting data must be fiendishly difficult or devilishly expensive right?  Not any more, thanks to the latest release of QuickCrypto from Cybernescence.

Ed Archbold, Cybernescence Project Leader explains;
"In the past encryption software has been notoriously difficult to understand let alone use, so we decided to design and build a package that would be extremely easy to use and yet still employs world class encryption. We figured only software that is really easy to use WILL get used and to that end it is possible to securely encrypt any file or folder on your PC with QuickCrypto with only a few mouse clicks."

This does in fact seem to be the case, but surely this relative simplicity means a compromise has been made on security? Ed continues "No - not at all. QuickCrypto uses the Advanced Encryption Standard algorithm that the US Government employs for 'Top Secret' information. There is no way an encrypted file can be read without knowing the password or 'key file' used to encrypt it."

And the benefits of QuickCrypto do not stop there. As an added security layer there is an option to hide files, meaning if an unauthorised person gains access to your PC they won't be able to see the encrypted files or folders.

There is also an in-built file shredder. Ed Archbold again,
"Many people may not realise that when PC files and data are deleted they are readily recoverable to someone with even limited system knowledge and freely available software. We understood there would be cases when this would be a security risk and engineered the QuickCrypto Shredder to permanently wipe this digital data, preventing unauthorised recovery."

Other features in the latest release include QuickCrypto's popular, secure email text encryption function and the all new image 'steganography', a fascinating and fun way to send secret messages hidden inside a picture.  The pictures will look and display exactly like any normal picture and the message hidden inside can only be recovered and displayed by using QuickCrypto.

An existing benefit for many customers is the 'Password Safe' - a secure 'vault' to store the increasing collections of  passwords, PIN numbers, ID numbers and codes we all accumulate every time we venture into Cyberspace.  Ed Archbold once again,
"The Password Safe keeps all your confidential information encrypted securely on your PC under one 'master password' or 'key file'. It also lets you quickly access secure web sites that are associated with these passwords and allows easy transfer of the relevant log-in details. QuickCrypto can also generate and remember secure passwords for you (random strings of characters) which are difficult for mere humans to remember and therefore are extremely unlikely to be guessed - by humans or computers!"
